when you laughed with me,
you laughed like you meant it. you laughed with your whole heart. you were my best friend. in the middle of a crowded school, we sat in that dingy cafeteria, that azure colouring of the walls, we were together as friends in a world full of unfair faces. we were family. i don’t think about this unless i miss you; i have tried to miss you less. i cannot remember what the colour of your eyes look like. i have a lip packed full of questions. i have learned people will leave you if they do not love you. i have learned you have to leave people if they do not love you. i am scared of what i will remember when i find myself, alone again, in a place i do not belong.
